While on board USS Churchill, Carolina received 2 Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal decorations, awarded to sailors who have performed commendably in routine duties or exceptional achievements.Carolina Campos is a first-generation Mexican American. Originally from Texas, she resided in Brownsville until she joined the military. Engaging in her high school’s mock trial team, she maintained her passion for the legal realm by undertaking internships with criminal defense firms during both her undergraduate and law school experiences. In 2018, she graduated summa cum laude from South University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Completing her Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies in two years, she achieved Dean’s List and President’s List Honors. Carolina then earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. Throughout her law school journey, she actively contributed to the Warrior Defense Project, providing pro-bono legal services to deserving service members. Additionally, she served as a student-attorney at the Center for Legal and Social Justice Pro-Bono criminal defense clinic. Since 2016, Carolina has been immersed in the criminal law field, accumulating valuable experience in State and Federal law in both the trial and appellate stages of the legal system.
