Family Violence

Family violence generally refers to certain acts or threats of violence committed against a family or household member, as defined by Texas law. Family violence can include conduct involving spouses, former spouses, family members, household members, and certain dating relationships. An allegation of family violence can have consequences beyond the underlying criminal defense charge, including issues involving protective orders and firearm restrictions.
